I am unable to scan my media library. The scanning process freezes at "1294 songs" (<50% complete) and no songs show up on the playlists.
Running it via bash shows the following:
My distro is PCLinuxOS 2010.1, which comes with 0.3 in the repositories.
Running it via bash shows the following:

I have just verified that this error is caused by a file (the file caused a crash on 'clementine' audio player as well). Most likely an improper ID3 entry on an MP3 file. Sorry, but I perma-deleted the file which was causing the crash.

Thanks for your report.
This MemoryError from tagpy is quite strange. Can you send me this file at my email?

Hi,
Thank you for your e-mail and the file.
There is no problem for me with this file. The fact it crashes with amaroK as well as with Bluemindo is normal, since the two players use taglib to retrieve song data.
What is the version of the python-tagpy package on your system? Can you upgrade it?

Synaptic reports the following versions
python-tagpy: 0.94.6-2pclos2009
taglib: 1.6.2-1pclos2010
They are both already upgraded to the latest version in the official (non-testing) repository

I can't reproduce this old bug, seems to be related to taglib/tagpy.
